Debbie Pisaro is the founder of Coastline 840 and one of California's most respected names in architectural and historic real estate. A 2025 Inman Luxury Leader, she has spent more than two decades helping buyers and sellers across Los Angeles and the wider state find homes with real design pedigree, and find the right people to keep them.

Her path to real estate did not start at an open house. After earning her bachelor's degree at the University of Kansas and her master's at the University of Chicago, Debbie built her early career at Warner Bros. Records, working alongside major recording artists and high-profile executives. It taught her how to position, negotiate, and tell a story that lands, instincts she still brings to every listing.

When she left the music business, she bought and sold two homes in the span of six months and, by her own account, made nearly every mistake possible along the way. That experience became her mission: no client of hers would ever feel lost in a transaction. She earned her license and was named Rookie of the Year in her first year.

What sets Debbie apart is how she reads a house. Her eye for design and her deep fluency in California's architectural canon, from Schindler and Neutra to Lautner, Ain, and Paul R. Williams, let her see a property's true potential and its real value, never swayed by staging. She also keeps particular depth in Los Angeles' branded residence market, advising clients through new developments where architecture, hospitality, and ownership intersect.

In the deal itself, Debbie's negotiation is relentless and her knowledge of the California market unparalleled, but her integrity always sets the ceiling: she will push as hard as anyone for a client, and never past what is honest. Debbie's passion for homes is not only professional. She is a collector in her own right. She lives in a 1907 Silver Lake Craftsman known as the Pink Lady, owns a Mies van der Rohe apartment on the lake in Chicago and a mid-century modern in the Hollywood Hills, and is in the middle of buying a home in Occidental, the small town in Sonoma wine country that remains one of her favorite places in all of California. She shares her homes with her dog, Lennon, and writes about California living across a network of neighborhood publications.
